I guess this is it! I already sent it in to Don, and then saw that post. XD Haha. Now I feel silly. Oh well.

Please Note!

Cryptic Nature

Okay so here's my pitch idea. This originally came from a comical paradical idea I had from my soon-to-be published (well Book I anyway) series, which I nursed along and then turned into this, which has almost no relation to my original idea. (Which never would of worked because nobody would of understood the context without reading my books.)

So... anyway, the 'cryptic' refers to the word 'cryptozoology' which is of course the study of various beasties which may or may not exist such as sasquatch and Nessie. I'm sure you can guess that that's what the story revolves around; aka, meeting these creatures and of course perhaps foiling those who would mean them ill. At the same time, Prof. Kain is trying to prove their existance, except him and his best friend who's a sasquatch screw up a lot. His sasquatch buddy is also constantly pretending to be a human student at the university, which he's really bad at and they have a chupacabra for a pet. (Chupacabras being mutated hairless coyotes basically.) There's also a biology prof in florals that dislikes Kain, calling him a 'crackpot' and she likes trying to get Kain fired. Luckily, the dean is fairly oblivious to their wars, as he's obsessed with watching competitive tennis.

Between Charlie's failed escapades at looking human, the chupacabra sensing the approach of nepharious CIA agents, the usual cast of students who think Kain's class is fake, aliens who want Kain to be an ambassador for them as well as do their errands and the biology prof. trying to get Kain fired, he has his work cut out for him!

So anyway that's my pitch. Unfortunately I don't have any more time to work on this, so I can't really do anything more with it. Originally I was going to have more character designs involved, but if I had gone with that there wouldn't of been enough negative space in my opinion.

Candice Prince's Pitch:: HOMEROOM 51

51

Hey, Guys

Alright, so this is one of three pitches that I am creating. I've been working so much that I haven't really had time to get them all in earlier-I know this is gonna end up being a las minute thing.

HomeRoom 51 is about a boy who finds this alien who just so 'happens' to crash land in his backyard. The outer space little blob is more than a handful but very friendly and takes a large interest in humans-especially this 'school' thing that all the kids seem to be going to.

With as much dismay from the boy, the alien persuades him to let him come to school with him. Disguising himself as an exchange student, (note the hat- to cover his large brain). Dispite the space alien's head, he's not much for smarts and gets himself and the boy into a world of adventures on the playground, detentions, and trouble from the boy's homeroom teacher who happens to be an undercover secret agent for the government.

With Agents on his tail, a little sister who thinks she herself is an alien- the boy has to be careful about keeping his new found friend a secret from the world and pass grade school.

('51' is the boy's homeroom number, but also due to the fact that the entire school is kinda like an area 51/Roswell conspiracy/secret agent thing.. I thought it would be slightly humorous to call it that.)

not too sure about names for the characters themselves right not, though I'm sure there's no need for it.

So here's my first submission.. Got a second I'll have done before Sunday.

Two questions I'd appreciate feedback on specifically:

1) Does "cat-burglars" count as one word? Otherwise I think I need to eliminate another word..

2) I was toying with a couple variations of the taglines... Any feedback on which sounds best/gets the idea across would be awesome:

"Can a pair of inept, dead cat-burglars complete a grand heist to win back their lives? With a heavenly hound bungling their burglaries, this is gonna take an eternity!

After a fatal failed heist, a pair of inept cat-burglars get another chance – if they succeed, they win their lives back too! Too bad heaven and hell are against them.."

Or the original text that's in the pic already... ?

Elementary....

I'm in Ontario right now, so no access to Photoshop, but I've been working a Sherlock Holmes type thingy (There's a movie coming out where iron man goes back in time and solves mysteries with jude law, so that's probably where i got this from). I got this far before realizing that i totally did not come up with Sherlock Holmes by myself. Maybe this is a problem. Maybe this can be his cousin. or something. anyways feedback is always welcome. maybe someone can tell me one way or another whether i should even bother with an already established character. has there ever been a sherlock holmes cartoon? I get back on the the 5th of june, so i'll have a day to throw everything together and submit before the deadline.
